Isnt this true !? June 15, 2006

"Went out to dinner the other night. Check came at the end of the meal, as it always does. Never liked the check at the end of the meal system, because money's a very different thing before and after you eat. Before you eat money has no value. And you don't care about money when you're hungry, you sit down at a restaurant. You're like the ruler of an empire. "More drinks, appetizers, quickly, quickly! It will be the greatest meal of our lives." Then after the meal, you know, you've got the pants open, you've got the napkins destroyed, cigarette butt in the mashed potatoes – then the check comes at that moment. People are always upset, you know. They're mystified by the check. "What is this? How could this be?" They start passing it around the table, "Does this look right to you? We're not hungry now. Why are we buying all this food?!""

What we want, we already have June 13, 2006

Is that statement true? I think the statement should have been, "We dont want to lose what we already have"…there are so many things in this world that we know that we take for granted…we are so engrossed in our little needs that we fail to see the world that surround us…I mean, at the point when we are craving for a candy there is someone who is actually fighting for his/her life….I dont mean that we should feel guilty of having the pleasures we do, but a thought of the unfortunate for a minute everyday wont hurt us….In this world where paper is valued more than anything, sometimes just thoughts arent good enough…this whole string of thought happened when I was travelling back home yesterday after work…I was talking to an elderly gentleman who lost his eye sight in his mid thirties…he said, "its easier if you havent seen the world at all, the toughest thing for me being blind right now is the feeling that I was able to see it before…" Today I decided to experience it myself…I wanted to see the world of the blind and the only reason I was able to do it honestly was the fact that I could choose to see anytime I wanted to…I could not tell you how hard it was…I taped my eyes with cotton and concealed with glasses…I absolutely had no idea who was looking at me…and what they were thinking…I could hear the noises around me and knew what they were..but couldnt see them…I for once appreciated the fact that the buses when they arrive in the stop, say the bus number aloud…never did I pay attention to that before…crossing the road is so intimidating and I could never tell if they wanted me to cross or if they waiting to run over me….the one thing I thought we should have is an audio alert when you have the little green man for the pedestrians…again, I could handle myself through these just because all I had to do to see again was remove the tape…I always knew the most courageous people where the ones who are less fortunate but now I know for a fact…I should say, we people who have things that we take for granted and dont respect the world we see are the less fortunate…cause god bless their souls, they help us see what we refuse to see….So I guess, what we want…we already have…we just want more.

..act ignorant of the fact a homeless person is asking for change..
…try to escape from the surroundings by plugging your headphones…
…count the number of good deeds, if any, you did for the day…
…getting stuck in a traffic jam and claiming it to be the worst experience…
…carry a bottle of water from home, like going on a Survivor series…

Like I melt when you look at me
Like you melt in my love
Like we melt in this rain
Sweet memories, dont melt away..

Cars – The review June 11, 2006

So yes, I was one of the thousands who stormed into the theatres to watch a movie that I have been waiting for a loooooong time…and I thoroughly wasnt disappointed…I might be a little biased on this review 'cause for me anything on four wheels is a marvel and to top it off, if you surprise me with Schumi actually giving the voice for a Ferrari, thats some serious points for the movie ;)….ok enough with my ranting and lets get to the movie shall we….Its amazing how Pixar gives life to its characters and then tops it off with the amazing visuals..after the first few frames you forget that those are cars with their eyes on their windsheilds and talk with their bumpers as their mouth….some how you start connecting to those little things…When its all said and done, the show belongs to my man, Larry the Cable guy…who is the voice for Mater, the tow truck…I just love his standup routines and his Blue collar group gigs but I must say, he fit perfectly for the tow truck…for some reason, my Need for Speed fans, pay close attention to the tracks that McQueen and Sally go for a ride on….and tell me if doesnt remind of the tracks from the NFS-Porche Unleashed…especially by the waterfall…I almost felt like, aaah I have been there ;)…..there are few scenes that could have been avoided in the movie..like in the first 10-15mins you have McQueen dreaming about being the next golden boy, and the same routine is repeated just by switching McQueen with his rival….apart from that, this one by Pixar is just close to my heart 'cause I am crazy about cars…but, I dont think will come out to be the household "aaaw" story like Finding Nemo…You will know what I mean when you watch the movie…So people, go and watch the movie in theatres…do not miss it and last but not the least, how about them tractors hahaha :)…..
<stay for the credits…or you will miss some of the funniest scenes>
